Salmon Camp

Each summer the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge provides an outstanding service for the youth of Kodiak…Salmon Camp! The mission of Salmon Camp is to educate Kodiak’s youth about the natural and cultural systems that define Kodiak’s geography and empower learners to investigate their own connections to this special place through hands-on learning, self-reflection and group discovery. KRAA fully supports the Refuge and the Salmon Camp mission. Additionally, KRAA staff participate in Salmon Camp by leading salmon dissection demonstrations for the campers. During the dissections campers get a salmon anatomy and physiology lesson and a hands on experience.
